Please read about two new events with UTK!

New Vol Roll Call is designed to celebrate the admission of our students. The event itself we hope to make very engaging and interactive. As opposed to a formal program, we plan to bring all things UT and Knoxville on the road with us – specifically the spirit of UT (orange, passion, Rocky Top, southern style food, games and atmosphere). We are inviting area alums to help us greet families, generate excitement, create an amazing energy at the event – and most importantly – to share their UT story. The event also provides an opportunity for area students to meet other future VOLS from their own community. Parents will also have an opportunity to speak with other parents of current VOLS about the transition, having a college student in Knoxville, and how to get engaged through the Parent Association. We are creating a very exciting atmosphere and would love for your students to attend. This excitement will grow as we offer our giveaways as well…(Ipad Mini, Butch Jones autographed footballs, Volunteer Tradition shirts and hats…). Students will also have a chance to paint their own rock as we celebrate our UT traditions. Please encourage your admitted students to RSVP through their VIP account. We look forward to seeing them and I look forward to personally talking with each of them and their families as I make this road trip. Dates and directions can be found here, http://admissions.utk.edu/newvols/.

The New Vol Roll Call will reach its culmination as we celebrate all of our admitted students on April 12th here on campus at Ayres Hall. Students should expect more great food and, of course, more giveaways. We will also have staff, alums, parent volunteers, and current students in attendance. This event will begin at 11am and end at 1pm just in time for the students and their families to make their way to Neyland Stadium for the Orange and White GameStudents are encouraged to RSVP, through their VIP account, for this event as well as the New Vol Roll Call event in their geographical area.

The Big Orange Visit event is a little smaller and will be hosted in the homes of select alums in Charlotte (March 10th), Atlanta (March 19th), Memphis (March 25th), Nashville (March 27th), Johnson City (April 3rd), and Chattanooga (April 5th). This event is designed to engage high achieving students. Staff from our office as well as the Honors office will be in attendance to answer questions. Multiple alums will also be present to share their story, and discuss the benefits of earning a degree from UT.
